Role
The role as a music producer is to find and arrange sounds into a track for either yourself or to be commissioned by someone to make a song. this will include the writing, arrangement, sound selection, sound design and sometimes also mastering. Producers can make music for multiple different things such as games, Movies, television, albums or singles and producers can also be referred as sole traders as they are usually a one-man gig and this means they will almost always be freelance. This means money can be on multiple different scales for different producers. Producers also give ideas and suggestions to other artists while writing and can try help with other elements of the tracks they can also help introduce artists to each other to let them collaborate and make new music. They are also responsible of clearing all samples used in their tracks so that the other artists involved are not caught in copyright tie ups.

Salary
As mentioned in the section before salaries can vary but the most common starting salary is around £30,000 for a producer who has 3 or less years of experience but this is expected when starting out and it is expected that the pay will rise with the experience that is gained while doing your job as your status and reputation will increase as well as your skills and physical ability which will result in more work and more money.
