Artefact 3

Here I will show off and explain my third artefact

Song 3 Ableton track three.

My third track that I will be submitting as an artefact is one I made quite recently and I was trying to get a minimal, dark, Detroit style techno sound and I feel that translated well. I started off with the kick and low end to get the base sound of the track down and then went on to work on hats and percussion, I modulated my hats using shaper and using jitter which gave me a groovy high end to keep the track going and then worked on synths last. I had originally wanted to go for a different synth patch and pattern but when I revisited the track I was not much of a fan of the sound of the synths so I decided to change them and I feel that they work in the mix much better now. the track as a whole I feel has worked out well with my idea or the dark and gritty sound I wanted and this is mostly thanks to things like lots of Glue Compressors, EQs, Overdrives such as Roar and Ableton's stock Overdrive and also the use of delays and reverbs. I also added multiple vocal perc's and hits which I processed, heavily EQ'd, processed and manipulated to help with the atmosphere of the full track. As a part of my assignment for this track I needed to have my own sampler instrument included and I used mine as a high percussion hit and I feel it really fits the songs industrial and heavy feel and also added reverb and delay to change full character of the sound.
